New DCPrecision Courses Scheduled
« on: August 08, 2013, 12:47:30 AM »
Our courses for the next 4 months have been scheduled. A few things to note, first we have a new course being offered called CCW Tactics and Preparedness. Second, our Advanced carbine course is now open to anyone with some sort of formal carbine training regardless of whether it was with us or not. Third, as a result of the changes to our Advanced course, the Basic has been toned down slightly to keep the beginner to novice shooters from being overwhelmed by the end of it. With that said, it is still a very good course for anyone looking to refresh on their fundamentals or just get a good rifle workout, never hurts to brush up on the basics. Finally, as a result of no-shows we are now requiring deposits of at least 50% for all courses you wish to register for. To register please call or email us.

Below the schedule is a brief outline of each courses offered. For more details or if you have any questions please post them here or visit our website or call or email us.

CCW Tactics and Preparedness - **Disclaimer: you will not receive the certificate necessary to apply for your permit after attending this course.** This course is designed for current permit holders wishing to test out their ACTUAL carry gear and determine their own level of preparedness as well as try out new techniques and learn from others. Group discussion about technique and situational theory is encouraged but fundamentals and stress management will be emphasized. Scenarios will be based upon recent events and things seen in the headlines, this will help base them in reality. The most important part of this course is the emphasis on bringing your actual carry gear. If you don't regularly wear those 5.11 tactical pants that you shoot in then don't show up wearing them. Flip flops and shorts are encouraged if that is your daily dress, as well as that little .380 that only holds 6 rounds.

Basic Carbine - Designed to bring beginner and novice shooters up to speed on the AR. Subjects covered will include: disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, zero, weapon setup, positions, tactical and emergency reloads, malfunctions, introduction to speed to shooting and multiple targets, introduction to stress shooting, balancing speed and accuracy, pistol fundamentals, safely transitioning from the rifle to the pistol.

Advanced Carbine - Designed for the more experienced AR shooter this course emphasizes stress and speed through the use of competition and more complicated scenarios. Advanced positions and non-dominant hand positions will be covered as well as the use of cover. Malfunctions will be further complicated and covered again. This will be a physically intensive class great for you tactical guys and people wanting to sharpen up for some 3gun.
