Ready for some Real Tactical Training(™)?
Are you Operator Enough(™) to operate effectively?
Then you should attend the "My Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops" seminar on May 25th.
http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html)
(There may be a bit of levity here and there. Just saying'.)
Haven't done any competition shooting? No problem! There will be none of that "sport shooting B.S." here!
"Lost" your unit patch from when you were a Black Ops Special Forces Recon SEAL Tactical Delta ELITE OPERATOR? That's okay---we KNOW you can't tell us what you REALLY did when you were in the military. (And we won't ask, because we don't want you to kill us.)
Want to run some useful drills and take some stress shooting tests and match yourself against other SERIOUS OPERATORS(™)? (You know, like SeanN who'd better sign up for this?)
My Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops
http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html)
Cost: $30
Details:
The MOABTYO seminar will run from 9am on May 25th until we get done, which will be around 3-3.5 hours later. Ish.
Basic format is introduction, safety briefing, then a series of drills and tests. We'll discuss some technique choices, run a skill drill set, then have a competitive test over that particular skill. Plan on working on 8 or so skill sets over the time we have.
Even though there are competitive tests in this seminar, they aren't like any of that "sport shooting B.S."! We are competing just like SOCOM units do, among their elite operators.
Seriously. Exactly like they do. (The fact that it completely resembles competition shooting is totally in your head.)
Now, important point: We WILL be tracking points for test finishes throughout the entire seminar. And we will have an award for the TOP OPERATOR of the seminar. So, there you go. (Also exactly like top elite specials forces do informally. Seriously.)
Note: This a Covert Ops Tactical Event. So---no full battle rattle, instead full Covert Tactical Tuxedos should be worn.
Items Necessary:
- Handgun and Holster combination. Certainly can be CCW, does not need to be (standard belt holster is fine), feel free to wear a thigh rig with level III retention. NO COMPETITION RIGS, NO RACE HOLSTERS, NO .22 PISTOLS. (Strongly suggest a full-size duty pistol, feel free to attempt to be tactical with a J-frame if you like. Laughter may ensue.)
- The ability to carry one spare mag pouch and access the magazine in it. (If you think pocket carry works for you, feel free to try it. You may learn something.)
- 250-300 rounds. We probably won't use all of it (you won't miss that much, will you?)
- Eye and Ear Protection, because deaf Operators are stupid.
- The ability to safely draw, reload, and move while handling a firearm while stressed.
- 50 rounds of .22 ammo. (The gun will be supplied for you.)
- Bring two 5-dollar bills and 10 1-dollar bills. These will not be paid or given to the instructor in any way. Matter of fact, you might not only end up keeping them, but collecting similar objects from other people at the seminar. We did say we were going to stress you here, right? (This is separate from the seminar fee. The $30 seminar fee is for time and materials, and that DOES go to the instructor.)
Final Notes:
Bonus points counting toward the total will be given to Real Operators who are wearing full Covert Ops gear. The full Tactical Tuxedo of tac pants, tac shirts (that don't look tactical, since this is covert), good boots, tac knife, holster that keeps your handgun secure during combat rolls, etc...
You know what I mean. You've seen the type. When we take a group photo, we should be The Most Tacticool People On The Planet.
Register for the My Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops Seminar!
http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html)
We are going to have a lot of fun. And maybe, just maybe, learn a thing or two about defensive shooting.
-
Not sure if serious....
Is a camelback, elbow pads, and and nothing else considered covertly tactical enough? Obviously I would have a 44 magnum duct taped to my taint, and a kbar hidden in my tactical Afro. Obviously.
-
Your course and subsequent post could be perceived as offensive and insensitive to those wannabes out there....and I like that.....
Alas, could one still participate if they don't own a 5.11 Tactical/Photographer vest?
-
I approve. I may even dig out my air soft vest and titanium cup.
-
So, you've arranged for some stealth Blackhawks to drop people into hostile territory (Iowa, perhaps) under cover of darkness? Do we get to pop a couple hog farmers and confiscate their pressure cookers? :D
-
I am told, completely on the down-low, that you are even more believable if you have the tactical fishing vest... i.e. the "shoot me first" vest for this class. I'll be out of town for this, so he's pulling out all the stops for this class. Good luck everyone.... I'm actually worried about this one. ;)
-
Is there such a thing as "couch tactical"? If so, count me in! ;D
-
Not sure if serious....
No, I'm serious. I'm holding this seminar, and indeed it will have the attitude that you can already guess. That being said, we are going to be doing some useful and serious shooting. Well, mostly. There may be a little ridiculous shooting for pure bragging rights.
Is a camelback, elbow pads, and and nothing else considered covertly tactical enough? Obviously I would have a 44 magnum duct taped to my taint, and a kbar hidden in my tactical Afro. Obviously.
Quite frankly, I don't want a naked person with a camelback and elbow pads in the class. Sorry. No.
Eew.
"Covert" Tactical---think of the guy wearing 5.11 pants, shirt, and cap, with wrap-around sunglasses, combat boots (name-brand, though), and the requisite IDPA shoot-me-first vest---who is CERTAIN that no one can figure out that he CCWs.
THERE'S "covert tactical."
Won't need knee or elbow pads. Feel free to bring a camelback, but you won't need to wear it. :)
-
Your course and subsequent post could be perceived as offensive and insensitive to those wannabes out there....and I like that.....
Alas, could one still participate if they don't own a 5.11 Tactical/Photographer vest?
Obviously, sir, you are NOT a Real Operator(tm).
You MUST be taught.
Take this seminar, and you, too, can learn to be Operator Enough(tm) for true covert tacticoolness. Enough such that you don't even NEED a shoot-me-first vest!
-
I approve. I may even dig out my air soft vest and titanium cup.
Now THAT'S the spirit!
...nerd. :)
-
So, you've arranged for some stealth Blackhawks to drop people into hostile territory (Iowa, perhaps) under cover of darkness? Do we get to pop a couple hog farmers and confiscate their pressure cookers? :D
Are you kidding?! Real Operators(tm) don't need wimpy mechanical support. They infiltrate on foot, on their own!
(Iowa can be hostile, I'll admit.)
In this case, our AO will be a bit smaller in scope. But don't worry---you'll have PLENTY to keep you occupied.
-
Is there such a thing as "couch tactical"? If so, count me in! ;D
As long as you aren't this kid:
...then you are fine.
If you ARE that kid----well. Hm. You know what? You are already Too Much Operator for this seminar, and should find one more suited to your unique, obviously advanced talents.
-
I will say this: We actually ARE going to be doing a number of useful drills, and the tests really WILL tell you something about your own practice.
Well, most of them will. A couple will be purely for true, full-on tacticool enjoyment.
We'll be having a Serious Tactical Time, of course---but I will note that we won't be there merely to blast off some rounds and make fun of wannabes.
-
Quite frankly, I don't want a naked person with a camelback and elbow pads in the class. Sorry. No.
Well then...
combat boots (name-brand, though)
Hey! Oakleys are comfortable dammit.
In all seriousness, I'll try to see what I can do about drumming up some ammo for this. I am running pretty low on 40S&W at the moment and most of it is allocated for courses I am taking this summer. What is the max capacity and last day to register on this uber cool tactical seminar?
-

My ops were learned from Psy videos via the Kim Jung Un School of High Heel Tactical Training.
Seriously, I think the drive to Ne from Al is not a good tactical move at this time, so I will have to keep practicing long distance shooting so I can shoot them in the eye before they ever get close enough to require tactical. It's my plan and I am sticking to it!
But if I were younger, it does sound like my kind of entertainment. After all, if it's loud it's good. Rock and Roll, Nascar and Guns.

Couch tactical ...
No helos? I'm out. :D
-
Now THAT'S the spirit!
...nerd. :)
I caught that sneaky edit...
-
What's the end time for the class?
And if I spray paint the words "Blackhawk" and "5.11 Tactical" somewhere on my gear (in tactical flat black paint, of course) will I be able to shoot in the black-out division with the other tacticools?
-
wait, it has to be black? i'm out, my gear is coyote...
-
...holster that keeps your handgun secure during combat rolls, etc...
Man! I have been waiting for someone to teach me this. So glad someone is finally offering a course for these skillz. I will have to see if I can find my black ops underwear and cup, which are all black of course.

-
I would like to attend, but that day is my anniversary and if I went the spousal unit would perform an "operation" of a different kind on me.
-
One question...will the black face paint be provided, or should we bring our own?
Disregard. I re-read the original post and realized it was "covert" operators. My bad.

Just a note: I'm only taking the first 10 people who sign up for this, because quite frankly I want a fun little seminar, not a huge stand-around-waiting sort of thing.
This seminar is pistol-only---just wanted to make sure everyone knows that. If people end up liking the format and types of skill tests, I might run more including carbines and (maybe) shotguns. (Bleh.)
Serious for a moment: We'll be discussing a specific skill or set of skills, running some drills to get you familiar with the skill, then testing you on it (and yes, having you show you are better than everyone else---because stress is a great teacher). The skills we will be working are all direct defensive shooting skills (well, okay, one or two won't be, but the rest will), because in addition to having fun, we want you to think seriously about your defensive carry/defense modes.
Back to normal: This will be the ULTIMATE TACTICAL TRAINING! BE THERE, or be one of those wannabe tough guys who just shoot competitions that don't mean anything!
Even RICK TAYLOR, the WORLD'S GREATEST TACTICAL INSTRUCTOR, will be impressed that you attended this seminar.
RICK TAYLOR - WORLD'S GREATEST TACTICAL INSTRUCTOR (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aafh7KpwADg#ws)

Pfffttt, covert tactical is for wannabes and mall ninjas. I'm going full on OVERT tactical.
Time to show all those punk gamers how it's done. ;)
All the tactics. All the cool. All the tacticool.
-

Hey dumbass, read the original post. It starts at 9am and lasts about 3-3.5 hours (so noon or noon:30).
Some people just can't read...
-
Some people just can't read...
Some people are busy being FULL-TIME TACTICAL! Too TACTICOOL to read!
Reading is for squints. Real Operators(tm) are people of ACTION!

A graduate?
[snip the actual video]
It takes a special kind of place to advertise like that, and a special kind of "Operator" to have that be impetus to train more.
Ahem. Back to normal advertising...
REAL TACTICAL TRAINING! Be a Real Operator(tm)!
My Ops ARE Blacker Than Your Ops! Take the seminar, and learn REAL defensive skills.
-
I'll be there. Finally a chance to pull out my nomex gloves, tactical goggles, knee and elbow pads, and IBA. I'm a bit chubbier than I used to be... So no one make fun of me, or take pictures and put them up on the internet =)
Signing up now!
-

Covert. COVERT! [sigh]
I'm a bit chubbier than I used to be... So no one make fun of me, or take pictures and put them up on the internet =)
Signing up now!
Excellent. 6 of the 10 spots are now filled, so there are only four spaces left for those wishing to learn to be a Real Operator(tm)!
-
(If people have fun with this seminar, we'll have another one with rifle and pistol----Blacker Ops 2.0. And in THAT one, people will get to go Full Tactical with complete gear loadout. But THIS one is COVERT Ops. Covert. Covert!)
-
I just signed my little sister up for it. We'll see if we can cook up some better ammo this time!
-
Hopefully I can make it to 2.0. I don't have lot of tacticool gear so I will have to improvise. Can I bring a tactical chainsaw?

Does SHE know what you've just gotten her into?

Depends---does it look like this?

Or maybe, more realistically, this:

or this

But this is the one that's just plain wrong…

...no. No, you can't.
-
7 spots taken, now.
I've sent out some informational emails to those Designated Operators who have signed up. If you registered but didn't get the email, check your spam folder, and if it still doesn't appear anywhere, drop me a PM.
Should be fun---except for one evil, evil EVIL drill/test. Ask Julie---she'll tell you that it is going to be seriously traumatic...
Still have spots for three more people. After that, we'll close it up.

:)
...so YOU should take this seminar. And become MORE TACTICAL!
-
I know NOTHING of what he's doing for this .... this is ALL HIS FAULT!
-
Just to let folks know: this seminar is for COVERT tactical types.
COVERT.
If this one goes over well, we'll have a Blacker Ops 2.0 seminar that includes rifle AND pistol, and is FULL TACTICAL, and folks who look like the picture below will get extra credit, because they are obviously COMPLETELY TACTICAL.
...but this first one is COVERT.
Like this guy. He isn't QUITE Fully Tactical, because those aren't combat boots and he isn't wearing a 5.11 hat, and worst of all he isn't wearing a concealment vest, so you can still see that he is not completely Tactically Ready--but he's got a good start. (You know he's got a Tactical Knife in his off-side pocket. You just know it.)

Awesome post, OP, funny stuff.

Awesome post, OP, funny stuff.
Funny? FUNNY?
We are COMPLETELY SERIOUS!
Are you Tactical Enough(tm)? Are you a Real Operator(tm)?
Or are you one of those guys who just does the square-range, playing-games sport shooting BS? The world is a 360 place, and if you don't know how to explode off the X in a dynamic critical incident, you are in a world of hurt, my friend.
My Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops Seminar.
Be there. Be TACTICAL. Like THIS guy. Skip the talking (who cares about talking?!) and go directly to 1:32 and revel in the incredible shooting skills.
Moving and Shooting (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5Syr8osPnA#)

Thought everyone would like that video. TRUE TACTICAL!
[cough, hack]
Scary part? He's not the only one doing that.
He's got a point---people should learn to shoot from whatever position they are in. However, he apparently is just parroting that from a competent person, because HE certainly can't do it. And neither, apparently, can many of the other people who are "teaching" it.
You see that sort of thing all too often in the "tactical" world, unfortunately. Someone who teaches "self-defense combatives" or "hand-to-hand defense with firearms" who doesn't actually have any knowledge besides a seminar they took once long ago that was for military or law enforcement, someone else who teaches knife/gun defenses because they watched a SouthNarc ECQC video and though "hey, I can do that stuff!"; there lots of people out there who teach plenty of things they just flat-out don't know---but they parrot JUST ENOUGH good concepts copied from someone else that people think that their techniques really ARE useful.
When their techniques really suck. (This happens in martial arts classes, too.) They can spout the basic concept (though they normally can't explain it, and any questions about it tend to get non-responses like "if you've never had someone try to kill you, then you just won't understand") but they don't understand it, they can't apply it, and their techniques might look cool, but just won't work.
They are teaching stuff they don't know. But that apparently doesn't stop them.
On the internet, lots of people are "experts" suddenly. Apparently, in this day and age, being "TACTICAL!" often means that if you look/act tough enough, sprinkle lots of "critical dynamic incident" buzzwords, tell people that you play by "big boy rules" and really know what "happens on the street," that is enough to make you suddenly knowledgeable.
[sigh]
On a separate note: IF YOU WANT TO BE A TRUE OPERATOR(tm) YOU WILL TAKE THE BLACKER OPS SEMINAR!
You CAN'T be a True Operator(tm) without it. Nothing else compares. You'll be NOTHING without this seminar. NOTHING, I tell you. On the street, you will be DESTROYED without the knowledge that only THIS SEMINAR can give you.
My Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops
Be there. Register now (three spots left):

-
My little sister is being a wet noodle and is backing out. Someone PM me and take her spot!
Find the most tacticool person you know, who always talks about "what I'd do if that happened to me..."
You know, like the passenger here:
A couple of dudes were driving at 95 mph on the interstate in Texas when a Trooper pulled in behind them and turned on his lights. The driver pulled off to the side of the highway, the trooper approached the vehicle and with his nightstick proceeded to tap on the driver's side window...tap, tap, tap....the driver takes his time, but finally reaches over and pushes the button to lower the window, when all of a sudden the trooper started wailing on the driver with his nightstick yelling, " When a State Trooper approaches your vehicle you have your window down and your licenses, registration, and proof of insurance out ready to answer any and all questions....DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?...." the driver was was screaming and crying "Yes sir, yes sir....please stop beating me with that stick!" The trooper backed away and walked over to the horrified passenger side of the vehicle and tapped on his window. The passenger immediately lowered his window and the Trooper began wailing on him with his nightstick. The passenger began screaming, " Stop, Stop...what are you hitting me for...I wasn't driving.." The trooper stepped back and replied, "I'm making your wish come true." The passenger cried, "What? What do you mean you're making my wish come true?" The Trooper replied, " I know you are going to get about two miles down the road and you're going to look at your buddy and you're going to say, " I wish that son-of-a-***** had tried to hit ME with that stick!"
C'mon, you know someone like that. The joke isn't funny---but you know someone who WOULD say that, don't you?
Tell them they need to attend the seminar to be MORE TACTICAL!
I am completely certain that they'll learn something important.
-
I keep thinking the video of that guy movin' and groovin' while shooting should really be set to some music. Maybe "Billy Jean" by Michael Jackson.
-
Got some ammo. I'm in.
-
Got some ammo. I'm in.
Got your registration, and sent you an informational email back. :)
Everyone else---that means there are only two spots left! (Assuming that Nick can either 1) talk his sister back into trying this---would it help to tell her that she won't be the only female there? or 2) find someone else to take her spot...)
The DAY is approaching...learn to be Real Tactical! Stuff that will KEEP YOU ALIVE when someone is trying to kill you.
Actually, that really IS what we'll be doing. Huh.
-
Everyone should clamoring to take this seminar!
I mean, have YOU used phrases like "dynamic critical incident," "inertial extraction" and "using our proprioception" when talking about efficient ways to drop the slide by kicking it lately? No? WHY NOT?!
After all, using that slide stop lever is obviously all fine motor skills, and that just won't work! Instead, you should learn the Real Tactical way to drop the slide as you are moving to the side with one arm useless or otherwise occupied, by pointing the gun down and behind you and kicking it into battery.
Getting Your Gun In Battery - The Kick Method (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsCU5gRxAxE#)
Watch the absolutely Perfect Technique[tm] at 2:08---but you really should ALSO watch all the prior stuff so you can understand the full depth of this Tactical Operator Self-Defense technique.
See how that is incredibly more useful, and obviously much more "gross motor skill" than using a finger to actuate a slide stop lever?
You should practice this. It'll probably save your life some day. (It would help if he could actually pronounce proprioception correctly, but Real Operators don't sweat proper English.)
And register for the Ops seminar---because YOU TOO can be a Real Operator.
-
I've took a 1/2 day session with Pincus a few years ago at a conference. The main thing you can say about him is that he IS the KING of self-promotion (and that is why Capitalism is great boys and girls). Going from his lowly beginnings at Valhalla to working his way into having the NRA endorsement/promotion of his current "gig". Simply brilliant...............
With regards to his training methods, I rather stand by my many posts of learning from guys who've "been there done that" e.g. Smith, Givens, Ayoob, etc.
-
One week left until Real Operators learn even MORE about TRUE TACTICALNESS!
Or, you know, people actually work some drills under stress that really ARE self-defense skills.
Two spots left. (Nick, you find someone to take that spot yet?)

If you are taking Nick's sister's spot, 1) please still go to the registration page and register for the seminar at http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html) ---and in the "Payment" section, choose "check" and then when it asks for the check number, put "Olson" there, and I'll know you are taking that spot; then 2) make sure you get with Nick and pay HIM for the seminar.
Two spots left!
(C'mon, I saw Real Tactical People there at the Man vs Man match yesterday! You KNOW you want to learn to be a Real Operator!)

Almost to the seminar! I've been buying up smoke and frag grenades (you know, for realism) and set up the computer interface for the Airsoft smartguns which will shoot you if you don't....
....ahem. Well. Anyway...
TWO SPOTS LEFT! Find people who are worse shooters than you are, and get them into the class so that you can beat them mercilessly!

Yesterday I went out and mowed the range area, and you are welcome. (If we had been doing the Blacker Ops 2.0 version, I'd have left the thigh-high grass there, and we'd have worked some infiltration too!)
Everyone has been practicing their combat rolls? Their war face?
Show me your war face!

We trained people in some SERIOUS TACTICAL OPERATIONS today.
SERIOUS.
Everyone was grimly intent on being an Operator, and we Took Them To The Next Level.
As this was supposed to be covert, ALMOST everyone in the class looked calm, cool, collected, completely harmless, and not tactical at all.
ALMOST. There's always That Guy.... [sigh]
And in our special socom operator-like comparative competition-----he also won.
[double sigh]
Here he is with his winner's cap and MOABTYO patch, along with the tactical sustenance provided by another student...

Overt tactical is the only way to go.
Step 1: Buy multicam
Step 2: Wear multicam
Step 3: ? ? ? ?
Step 4: Win
It's my 4 step process to success for real operators. 20% of the time it works EVERY TIME.
I'd like to thank Crye Precision for designing the amazing multicam pattern that helped me win this competition. And Wild Things Tactical for making a fantastic multicam windshirt and wind pants that help you stay cool, stay dry, and remain tactical. It's tacticool-dry.
Okay, I think I'm done making everyone dumber. ;)
In seriousness, was a very fun seminar, looking forward to the next one. I'll write up a review for you also, Thomas. No promises on being short. :P
