Who watching this video, thinks this gentleman walking along a road with an AR around his neck, in a camo hat and red bandana, was acting in a just and prudent manner?
I think the outcome was predictable, and his having a video of the incidence recording everything, is a indication he was hoping for just what was predictable.
I think we have the right to open carry, I think we have the right to keep and bear arms, however, even free speech, does not give the right to shout fire in a dark crowded theatre.
I would never do, what this guy has done in this video. He was calling attention to himself, and once the interaction with LEO's started, he made sure to enforce their fears of him, at every word that came from his mouth.
At the point, the LEO's arrested him, had it gone the other way, and they uncuffed him, and gave him his guns back, would that have served the public interest, turning loose a thoroughly pissed off guy with two guns, walking along the road? That would seem like a less than ideal outcome of the stop.
Did the original police officer handle it perfectly? Possibly not, but at every opportunity, the guy with guns keep digging himself deeper into the hole he created.
Should he loose his CHP? That I am sure will be hotly debated in gun forums. I think the guy was a lot too confrontational in his use of firearms in this video. IMHO
Thanks so very much for posting this, a great example of how LEO's will, or possibly will respond to open carry under similar circumstances.
