ENPS Presents: ZOMBIE MATCH IV! (Oct 27th, 2013)
« on: September 02, 2013, 11:57:09 AM »
You've got two months to prepare.  And then...THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING.

This year, we'll have centerfire pistol divisions, .22 Pistol divisions, .22 Rifle divisions---and for those people who like to play with pistol-caliber carbines, a division specifically for you!  (So if you have a 9mm AR-15 with a dot on it, you are going to love this match.)

For information, go to the website at:
http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html

If you know you are going to be able to go, pre-register online on the website.  It'll make our registration MUCH faster at the match.

I'll be including more information about helping out, working the match, registration details, and match specifics over the next couple of months.   Right now, registration is available, along with a lot of information.  Stages are not up yet---but they'll be coming soon.

Due to demand for t-shirts last year, we'll also be accepting pre-orders for Zombie Match shirts.  We aren't currently ready for those yet (and the t-shirt design is not finished) but it'll also be coming soon.

If you are on Facebook, like our page at:
http://www.facebook.com/ENPSZombieMatch

...to get updates, pictures, and (ahem) helpful hints for match success.

So you don't get eaten by zombies.

(If you are a USPSA RO or CRO, check back here periodically because I'll have some info for you if you want to work the match.)

We had over 100 shooters last year, and we'd like to beat that record.  Cost is only $20 or a new-in-the-box toy---and everything goes to the Marine Toys-For-Tots Foundation.  We aren't keeping any of it---ENPS is donating the equipment, and the match staff are donating their time.  It's a worthy cause, folks.

Pre-register for the match, and practice those headshots!

Any chance you will let me build a stage incorporating my ideas from last year?  It's not a Zombie Apocalypse without some smoke in the background.  Or how about a flaming window you have to shoot through?  That would be a challenge.

Like I said...It is NOT a Zombie Apocalypse without some smoke.  And where there's smoke, there's fire.

Some of our reloaded ammo provides plenty of smoke   Some of them more than others ;D

No. Very much no.  Extremely, absolutely no.

Well.....maybe.

....NO.

(...unless you have enough smoke grenades for everyone to have fun.)

I think you need an impact weapon stage.....maybe bash a few in the head with a baseball bat, then pick up your firearm and finish the rest off.  You could have the "head" be a ball sitting on top of a mannequin, and you have to knock it off before continuing.

Sadly, this always conflicts with my daughter's annual Halloween party, and there will be a lot of disappointed 9-10 year olds if dad isn't running around in his creepy horse head mask.

If I ever get to attend I am SO bringing the mask, even if I can't shoot it it.

Horse head masks and smoke grenades, what could possibly go wrong???

I attended last years match, it was a lot of fun and a very well put together match. Lot's of people, lot's of stages, and a lot of shooting.

It sounds like your priorities may be out of wack.

Okay, not only is match info and registration posted---but so is the t-shirt order page.  A lot of people last year REALLY wanted t-shirts (which we hadn't planned for---we just had shirts for the staff) so this year we have decided to take orders for shirts prior to the match.

Go to the match website at:  http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html

...and first, pre-register for the match:)  (You know you are going to go to the match, so get that info to us!)

After that, if you want a shirt, there is a link off the main page.  Go there, bring up the PDF file, fill it out on your computer, print it out, and send with with your payment.  (Yes, you have to pre-pay.)  You'll be able to pick up your shirt at the match when you show up for registration.

Note:  If you want a shirt, make CERTAIN to have your payment to Julie by October 14th.  Anything received after that will be out of luck, because we'll have already put our shirt order in.  And we are NOT planning on having any extra shirts available for sale at the match, because that is a big hassle.  So get your orders in early!  :)

More like a USPSA match, actually.

Video from last year:

Scoring is done similarly to Multigun, though, using Time-Plus scoring.  And we allow a number of different guns (for example, .22 Optics Rifle and Centerfire Pistol-Caliber Rifle) with no magazine restrictions.

This match is fun, but it could be SOOO much better if Thomas would just take our advice.

I'll only be there if a belt-fed division is opened.

Don't know the answer for sure. However there have been  issues with 22lr rifles not activating the timers.

jthapkido ...nice shooting in the video.  A little off this topic.....your premature magazine drops in Stage 2 (I think it was) reminds me of some of those habits we need to be aware/concerned about going from gaming/matches to reality (NOT joining the Shawn camp...with all due respect to him et al at Tactical 88).
It reminds me of when we hosted Ayoob.  I recall one lad while I was RO'ing "instinctively" doing a press check EVERY TIME he brought his gun out of the holster.  It was quite an interesting thing to behold.  I visited with him about it, especially my concern for REAL WORLD and possibility of getting out of battery due to this habit.
For what its worth, I am and still can be guilty of my own bad habits (trying to overcome).....

Yeah, that was my fault last time. Unless the r/o was under a foot from the ejection port, it wasn't getting picked up
