Cabela's in LaVista is having an open house the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd. They are generously allowing us to have a table at the front of the store to sign up new NFOA members.

Who would like to volunteer to help out for an hour or 2(or more) to sign people up for NFOA membership?

I have the new NFOA banner, so I will be there Saturday morning to help set things up and recruit for a while.

Huskergun and I are already planning on doing the show saturday, and ChrisZ and DanW are doing the show Sunday. See you there Saturday morning.

I will probably come up, but don't know how long I can stay right now. I'll help if I can. Has anyone ever looked into the possibility of getting some window decals or bumper stickers made with the NFOA logo on them? I think they would be a good way of promoting the group, and maybe even raising a little money. I looked around just a bit this morning on the Internet. It appears we might get some custom made stickers/decals for a very reasonable price. Don't hold me to this, but it appeared we might get a decal with two or three colors the appropriate size for a vehicle window (in various shapes or sizes as needed) for as little as forty cents each if we were to get a thousand or more. Even at a dollar apiece, we could sell them to members for say twice that or something, and actually raise some money.

What does anyone think about that? I know I'd be glad to put one next to my NRA, IWLA, and S&W decals.

Also, some of the board members have taken it upon themselves to purchase some stickers locally out of their own pockets and have been giving them away at various activities to people that have made donations, etc...

I have one on the back of my car and it looks great. Don't have a picture handy here, though.

Dan took the lead on the stickers and I think he still has some.

I've got a couple extras, or just use the link above. I personally haven't seen the stickers from the store yet, though.

Dan, is there anyway me and LitlRat can get some stickers for Sat.?
Keep in mind guys that we are probably going to be set up next to the gun library according to the event manager who I have been talking with. I think 2 or 3 people working the table at one time is good. I am planning on doing it most of the day on Saturday.

I'm not sure about fliers on windshields. What does anyone else think? I generally get a little pissed off at people who do that, partly because it's never anything I'd want anyway, and then I have to throw it away somewhere, and partly because most of them end up blowing in the wind and become a litter problem. I'm okay with it though if some of you think it will help our cause.

Has anyone thought about a raffle of some kind? I know Ducks Unliimited and Pheasants Forever and lots of other groups raise money that way. I don't know if Cabela's would have a problem with that or if we could even get anything ready by then, but if not, maybe down the road sometime. Those hunting clubs generally raffle off a shotgun or something.

Flyers on windshields are just another way to get the maessage out to people who might not want to come up to a table. It does work sometimes and it doesn't piss off that many people otherwise I wouldn't do it. I primarily pick vehicles with NRA or other pro gun stickers on them already.
Keep in mind that this ball is just starting to roll. I'm sure in the future raffles will come into the fold.

Will there only be one table for NFOA there, or might we set one up inside and outside if we have the people to man them? I'm pretty sure I can come up, and I'd be willing to help out for a couple of hours anyway, maybe longer.

One table. Inside. There are allot of exibitors there for this so space is probably limited. They also choose where to put us. I've been talking to them now for 2 months and at this point I understand they are putting us next to the gun library unless that's changed. I am following up with them on Monday to double check.
This should be a good event for us.
