LJS Headline: Police to Take Guns, Ammo - No Quesitons Asked.

Horrible headline to describe a "gun amnesty" in Lincoln on Sunday.  As usual, the LJS has incorrect information as Lewis Fields are NOT at 27th & J street, they are at 2210 "M" Street - (North of Capital Pkwy & J St).

Anyway, here is the link to the story:

http://journalstar.com/news/local/911/police-to-take-guns-ammo-no-questions-asked/article_fed098dc-db4e-5298-bc25-9177ef73ee42.html

Lincoln police want you to bring your guns to town, and then get rid of them.

Specifically, gun owners can bring them to the Lincoln Police Department’s second gun amnesty day. They can drop off guns and ammunition, no questions asked and no identification required.

Police will accept guns and ammo at the Lewis ball fields parking lot, 27th and J streets (across from Lincoln High School), between 1 and 4 Sunday afternoon.

Owners should transport their guns and ammo in the trunk or back seat in an open container. When a worker approaches the car, let them know where the gun and ammo are.

Police recommend unloading firearms and opening their actions, but not if someone doesn’t know how to do so. If a gun is or may be loaded, let the worker know.

So, if any of you have a bunch of guns or ammo that you want to get rid of, you can take them and give them to LPD free of charge.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.  I carry a lot of ammo because I cant run very fast.

Wow, what a deal, I'll bet there will be NFOA members falling all over themselves to make it there

I'm tempted to set up a table a half a block away offering $10 for each firearm...
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

That had been discussed earlier for another gun amnesty buy back.  We never put it together though.

When the Seattle police department was buying guns from people,  gun enthusiasts went there and offered the people more money! Great idea!

The pics I saw showed a pile of air rifles for the most part.
