Anyone have recommendation for ammo boxes

I am looking for more ammo boxes.  I have 10 Dillon 100 round boxes, and they are nice, but Dillon is a little too proud of their product.

Anyone have experience with MTM or Berry's ammo boxes?  Any others that you might suggest?

Well If you are like me and can't chose weather or not to get the tactical key or classic key for your technoframes :P  I settled for using the MTM caseguards for rifle they are great, the pistol boxes still have the folded over plastic hinge but with 5 years of use they are still holding on strong.

I've used Cabelas and MTM.  They both do the job.

I like the MTM Flip top and Frankford Arsenal flip top 100 round cases that I get from Midway USA, but i did buy miine on sale for around 3 bucks each If I recall

^^$3 is a good deal.  Amazon which seems to be the cheapest is around $6+ a box now. 

I wish someone would make some hard plastic boxes similar to the size of factory cardboard ammo boxes.

I do believe those are them. Shipping almost winds up costing more than the boxes some times though.

Cabelas has both 50 and 100 count boxes.  $1.99 and $2.99 respectively.

I have a lot of Cabela's, MTM, and Frankfort Arsenal boxes. Have never had a problem, but have to have so many around that they take up too much room. I have since decided that 30 and 50 cal boxes work much better, and they have a handle on them to carry by.

Cabelas brand boxes are less expensive than the  MTM carried by Guns Unlimited.  I can't really tell any difference since molded plastic all feels about the same.

I'm picking up what you're laying down Dave, but the ammo boxes make it easy to mark the cases in my signature orange sharpie color so I can distinguish my brass from others.

The only thing I don't like about that is I case gauge all of my reloaded ammo (everything that passes gets marked for competition, everything that fails gets separated for practice) and after I gauge it, putting it in the 100-round box makes it easy to check for primer issues.  (High primers, reversed primers, etc.)  If I dumped them into a 50cal box, I'd probably get sloppy about checking for primer issues.  (Yes, I know I could check it when gauging, but I find I'm better at catching issues in the box after gauging.)  Plus I don't mark them until the box is full.  :)

So----I just have lots of 100-round boxes in piles.

I use those postage labels that come on a sheet of 30. Just print them off and they stick to the front of the boxes so I know exactly what is in them. I don't have to open them up until I am using them. Of course, I only fill them with reloads, factory ammo just stays in the original boxes.

I guess I never mark my brass with color, that is a good idea for what you are doing though.

I don't think you are picking up what I am laying down.  :laugh:  I actually mark the ass/primer end of each round so it is easy to distinguish from everyone else's brass laying around the range when I am being a brass rat.  I'm not worried about knowing what is in the box and/or if it is my box.

Good point, and one that I was thinking about making.  Placing the rounds in a box, though it is not an extremely slow process (for me), is one more opportunity to catch any production errors.   Same thing when you are loading a mag.  Looking and feeling each round as it goes in, though it is quick, is one more step in QC.

Yeah, I'm a little slow, I did get it after I posted first, just added to the bottom of my post. It's past my bedtime, and it shows.
