Things are seldom as they appear.  Yes, it is possible, the guy was absent minded, careless, foolish, or all the above.  It is also possible, his accidental insurance policy, made out to his children, pays out quite well, and for a higher amount than suicide. 

To qualify as an accident, a credible witness must be present, and think it was a gun safety class.

I smell a con.

Three guns, one bullet, one trigger pull.  Sounds like the shell game from Hell.

On a side note, I was looking at the first picture on the CBS report.... Is that an airsoft/pellet gun? I'm getting used to the general lack of firearm knowledge coming out of CBS but can they not even google a picture of a real gun?
