I own a Springfield XDM compact 9mm and I am wanting to get the trigger lightened to 1.5 to 2 lbs. I live in Greenwood, Ne. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

That is a very light trigger for a handgun, even more so for a compact intended for concealed carry... you may have a tough time finding a smith that will take that liability on.

If you want a direct drop in trigger (DIY), check out Powder River Precision.
I doubt you could get it that light of a trigger pull, but.........

How did you come to that target weight?
The two most well known places for Springfield XD / XDm work are Springer Precision and Powder River Precision (as mentioned above.)
The work order for Springer Precision says:
*Must be above 2.5#
**XDm triggers below 3.25# must have auto take down deactivated
What are your goals and intended use for this gun?
