Article breaking down 'Nebraskans Against Gun Violence'!
« on: December 21, 2014, 12:20:23 PM »
I just stumbled across this article from September...  it's a very good read as it explores the real motives behind the bloomberg front group 'Nebraskans Against Gun Violence'!

...And the NFOA even gets a positive mention!

Possibly my favorite quote, there are so many good ones is....
"NAGV is against open carry in any form, concealed carry, and I guess any carry at all."

These left fringe groups have always been good at naming their organization something with a positive spin,  something that has little to do with what they stand for, take pro choice for example, I consider myself pro choice as far as carrying a firearm, not abortion.

The professor is right about one thing ... the fundamental clash in this country is between those who prefer freedom and the rule of Law under the Constitution and those who prefer a socialist state ruled from the top by decree.  Pres. Obama, with his "executive orders" is presenting a good model of what that would be like, including the use of supposedly neutral Federal agencies as tools for the Marxists (who masquerade as Democrats).

Lately, Obama has jumped on unknown events (like Fergeson, nobody knew what was even going on yet) that could be stirred into racial unrest.
Waved his hand over amnesty for illegal immigrants (ignoring federal law). And recently pushed Cuba diplomacy (with no regard to federal embargo).
Ruling from the top seems to be the thing these days.
Don't know why nothing has been done to stop it?

We should use the words of Amanda Gailey and what NAGV stands for as a rallying cry and give to the NFOA-PAF.

ABSOLUTELY!  If anyone follows the local & national anti-gun/anti-rights facebook pages they constantly use what's being said by a gun owner and twist it into whatever fits their narrative...

We do run the risk of giving them more attention than the minimal amount that they currently receive....  if anyone has any creative ideas for fundraising let me/us know, I have a few that I am currently vetting out...

Solution wise, safety training was mentioned in the article.
Beyond the unfortunate mistakes made by under-educated people there is criminal use of firearms. The unfortunate mistakes are a matter of firearm owners keeping control of their stuff and education of others to reduce accidents (child education and older). An actionable thing by an organization and can put some positive light on the right side of things.

Just a reminder, our enemies DO read our forum.  Hi there.  It must really be frustrating constantly being on the losing side.  ;D

Just my .02 - NAGV isn't terribly effective, and doesn't have an active or large membership.  I'm sure there are a few core members who are true believers, but like all the Bloomberg astroturf organizations I get the impression that they're pretty much a shell.  I would suggest keeping an eye on them and countering them with their own words when necessary, but we don't necessarily want to draw attention to them.

Yes, good words to remember.... all of my ideas that I am working on currently are not related to their group.

Yes & Yes....I think that the 2 things that will make the NFOA more effective statewide are..... 1.More Members specifically active members & 2. More cashflow....to expand firearms education efforts, raise awareness, affect legislation positively, & in general be a force to be reckoned with...

Of course, which came first the chicken or the egg?  If we had more money we could spend more to recruit more members & if we had more members we could raise more money....

Any anti-gun group, no matter how small, can count on a powerful ally in the liberal press.  But the lies they use to sell their attempts at disarmament are so outlandish that even their ally has not been able to give them all they want.  For their numbers though, and as outlandish as their lies are, they have had more success than they should have had.  Just consider for example that there are places like schools, where civilians are illegally barred from being armed, even though experience has proven that such laws do nothing but make mass murder easier to commit.

There does need to be such a thing as reasonable restrictions on a Constitutional right, like for example we don't want a rich traitor like George Soros being able to buy an atom bomb, and we don't want nerve gas sold at Walmart.  But those whose proven purpose is to destroy a right have no place in any realistic discussion about what is reasonable, and it is incumbent on those who defend the right to keep them and their poison out of it, by exposing them and their lies for what they are.  We need to take the initiative, and keep the enemy on the defensive.

This group NAGV looks like a troupe of clowns led by an arrogant fool.  But what that group represents is very real.  The liberal icon Saul Alinsky points out that one of the best ways to destroy a person is by ridicule.  Look at how well that technique was used by the liars of the liberal press against Sarah Palin and others like her, and see how well what she represents was attacked by attacking her.  We should use the same tactics against the enemy of freedom.  If the enemy wants to parade a clown in front of us, let us use that clown.
The liberal cult seeks destruction of the American Republic like water seeks low ground.

This is flawed thinking. Law tries to eliminate (reduce) certain social issues by taking away everything from citizens. People seem to think that taking away certain things will eliminate use of certain items.  Rich people will buy what they want. People can go to WalMart and buy the ingredients to make a nerve gas.
The issue is what a person does with what they have. We can not eliminate or control everything that might cause harm to others. We CAN specify that harming others is unlawful and allow recovery of neglience or jail time as a deterence. After that, it doesn't matter how that harm or negligence is accomplished and allow responsible persons to be responsible.
