Gun counters can be a zoo for breaking gun safety rules, I often wonder if customers should be made to read and understand the 4 rules of gun safety before handling? ::)

 you just have to realize that a certain percentage of the people in this country are stupid, they can be in any job,

While I agree the cop should have cleared the gun, what kind of gun shop has loaded guns in the display case? Lots of stupid going on.

Any any random population there are, by definition, 3% of the population below -2 Sigma.  And, looking at it another way, half of the people in the country are below normal in intelligence, while half are above.

If the shop owner doesn't have a lawyer that is smart enough to come up with a number to satisfy the guy, he better be prepared to punch a time clock somewhere else cuz if it goes to trial, he will lose everything....

I don't think so.  All the lawyer has to do is show officer training materials on the proper handling of guns.   Worse case mode is that the liability is equally shared, unless a jury which is anti-gun is selected, then the gun shop owner will get punished because he is.

Well I guess this proves that only cops should be allowed to have guns. 

Since he's a trained police officer, maybe he could get a job as a security guard for Bloomberg.
