The NFOA Legislative Committee cordially invite you to our
2015 NFOA Day at the Capitol and Luncheon.

On Thursday March 19, members of the NFOA will spend the day at the Nebraska Capitol discussing pertinent Legislative Bills with our respective Senators in the morning, educating ourselves on the unique Nebraska Unicameral legislative process, with the day ending with public hearings on bills of our interest.
Dress Code:  "Business Casual" but also come as yourself- we want to represent the diversity of our members.
    A full itinerary follows:

    • 8-9am.    Rod and Jeremy will be at the capital early to assist any member that would like to seek out and speak to their respective senator.  We highly recommend a face to face.  Session starts at 9, thus come early if you want to speak to your senator.]
    • 9am         Meeting Room 1524.
                      Educational Seminars
NFOA Directors will provide a Overview of the 2014-15 Session Bills of interest, our
                      Objectives and Priorities this session.
Guest Speakers: Senators and Legislative Aides will speak on Bills introduced and the unique
                       Nebraska Unicameral process.
    • 11am        We will move to the Legislative Chambers Balcony during the day's session debate, and be
                            officially recognized by the Speaker.
    • 12 noon    We have invited senators and their staff to have lunch with us.
Location: The Historic Ferguson House aka The Nebraska Environmental Trust Building
(700 S. 16th St. - Directly SE of the Capital)
Catered by:  Phat Jacks BBQ - Big selection of BBQ goodness will be available.
Cost for lunch will be a $20 donation to the NFOA.
Please RSVP for lunch by emailing to jcady.nfoa@gmail.com
    • 1:30          Return to the Capital to the Judiciary Committee Hearing Room 1113 for public input on four
                       Firearms Related bills.
We ask that you stay to support our Volunteer Lobbyists.  There will be a sign in sheet for you to place your name and your Support/ Opposition for a particular bill to be entered on record for committee consideration.  If you would like to testify- GREAT!  Please contact Rod or one of our other lobbyists to coordinate testimony, and reduce any redundancies.
The committee also asks that members adhere to the code of conduct during the hearings.

Hope to see you there to show solidarity of our membership and show our lawmakers we are involved and are watching.

I will be ending my streak of consecutive days in a row worked at 30 to attend this!  Thank God! I need a day off.

Now the only question is....."Who is coming with me?"

We had an ok turnout last year & this time around we are having a NFOA specific catered lunch directly across the street!

This is likely the best opportunity available to you....to help represent our organization...to show Nebraska's elected official that we are a force to be reckoned with....& that we are paying attention!

Just discovered that I have two work conflicts on that day - can't re-schedule either so I won't be able to make it.  :(

Get your RSVP in folks.  Food Spots are filling fast.  Over a dozen senators, staff and special guests coming to eat with the members of the NFOA. This is your chance to sit down with YOUR lawmaker and chat over some great Award Winning BBQ.

(Thus far I have more lawmakers coming to lunch than I do NFOA members.  ??? )
