Fall turkey hunting Powder Horn WMA
« on: October 25, 2017, 10:02:48 AM »
I have been looking for a decent place to try some fall turkey hunting. I am curious if anyone has been out to Powder horn WMA near West Point in the last year or two. If so did you see any signs of turkey? I am just trying to get pointed int the right direction. Ive been looking at it via goolge earth and it looks promising. Also there is an Open field and waters program location directly on the southeast side of Nickerson that i think will definitely be worth a look.

my suggestion is jump in the car and drive.  take the wife/kids and go for a hike.  its a great way to get out in nature and scout for turkey, etc.

a good idea is to stay away from large metropolitan areas.  less people = less hunting and less stressed animals (usually).
