I just got back home from Lincoln and the 2nd Amendment rally.  Thank you Jeremy for bringing your flags!  Andy, thank you for getting those things printed, bringing cords and Les and all thank you for helping set up the sound system.  You did NFOA proud!

I was so honored to stand up there and see over 60 people celebrating our tradition and heritage and standing up from all that the 2nd Amendment represents.  I know they aren't all on here, but I have to share my thanks and gratitude for the amazing speakers who came to help us spread our message. Senator Laura Ebke, Dick Clark, Chris Baker, Joe Herring, Jon Anderson, Travis Patoka, leaders of the Second Amendment Institute in Nebraska and other speakers did a fantastic job in spreading our message in support of firearms freedom, advocacy and active citizenry.

We assumed that we would have some counter protests, but NAGV was not assertive enough to publicly do so, and instead sent in some supporters to watch.  We noticed half way through, that Nebraskans Against Gun Violence simply sent in some nondescript, but easily recognizable folks to watch, observe and take photos so that they could use our rally against us and our supporters. https://www.facebook.com/NebraskansAgainstGunViolence/  Amazing how they can twist and turn things around. That's why we CANNOT sit back and let them establish the narrative.  They are manipulative, inane, unreasonable sycophants to their own ignorant agenda.  They threaten our rights because they spread false information like a plague.

They 'call out' our rally and our guest speaker on their Facebook page for advocating for our right to self defense as if that is a cruel, evil, and selfish undertaking, when we are standing for the rights of citizens like those Texas church goers to defend themselves from the evil that struck them. But we know, they will use every horrific story where someone could not defend themselves as a justification to remove our ability to keep that from happening to ourselves, family, friends, churches, and businesses.

Not long after their post about our rally, there was a post that said "Every Gun Death is Political."

And there you go...

SO not surprised!  So we know they are going to make it political and our response should be readiness for their lies to be woven and their testimony to be crafted in a way that they hope will sway the ignorant - elected and otherwise.  We have to do what it takes to ensure they are unsuccessful in using it as fodder for their political gain.  We know the truth, we know that evil cannot be removed from our world and that we, who are good, lawful citizens are responsible and must remain capable of defending ourselves. We are the FIRST RESPONDERS!

Short of all-out confiscation, they don't have much of a leg to stand on.
Shooter was dishonorably discharged with makes him a prohibited person.  Armed neighbor responded with his own rifle first, causing the shooter to flee.  Armed neighbor gave chase.  The authorities did nothing but respond after the fact.  I keep hoping we hear that the neighbor fired the fatal shot and the POS didn't off himself.

But back on topic, there were some great things said today at the rally, and thanks for sharing (again) the name of the speakers.  I'd like to listen to the radio host that spoke today.

It is funny but scary because those people are out there and vote.

It is funny, and it is scary... but I tell you what... it's very motivating. It's what keeps me up at night and ready to rise early in the morning when it comes to working for the members of NFOA.  We cannot take for granted that reason and logic will prevail. This line of thinking/emotion, shown in the moonbat emails, is like a virus. It's spreading. They talk and share among themselves in echo chambers that spread these perspectives and beliefs.  I find time and time again, even when I can get them to accept facts they were not aware of, their emotions make their brains go back into their "safe spaces" and they revert back to their stubborn ignorance.  I can acknowledge their  utopian ideals of peace on earth sounds lovely, but there has been war, violence and crime for millennia.  They refuse to acknowledge that within humanity is our best and our worst.  You cannot have free will without accepting that fact. I prefer free will and the responsibility for my own security than to lose my freedom for some false sense of security.  They go right back into their scripted arguments "if we just did this" or "if we just had this law" "if we just trusted the government to take care of us" blah blah blah.  They refuse to acknowledge that Santa Claus is not real if you know what I mean.  So we must do what it takes to make sure our voices are louder than theirs, our numbers are more visible than theirs, and that our votes are weighed as more important and numerous than theirs.
