Our cub scout troop has pine wood derby that day, so I doubt I can make it.  I'll be there in spirit, though.  Tired of all the attacks on law-abiding gun owners!

No, this is not about showing our strength this weekend. This is about showing our sovereignty, as free men and women, our solidarity as fellow Americans, demanding from our representatives Constitutional Protection against a rogue Federal Government. Because if not, than the republic is no longer legitimate.

I just want to say that I dont carry to show my strength, I carry everyday because I alone am responsible for the safety of myself and my family.  I havent decided if I am going to the event yet but I really resent going anywhere without being armed.  It seems to me that it is good for the "people" to see law abiding, calm civilians carrying guns in public.   Compromise is often the mother of enslavement.

HEY! I'm skipping out of Pinewood Derby duties to man a booth at a Women's Expo, so YOU can march your butt downtown and stand for the greater good. Heck bring the boys down. We can put them on sign duty (Artist pin).  I see no better way for them to earn their Citizenship pin than to utilize two of our Rights to protect a third.

YEAH, what NE Bull said....   I'm doing a Shooting Sports Training presentation to the council then heading to a District Camporee at Bellevue Rod and Gun Club to visit rifle and shotgun events..

Open carry is not addressed in Nebraska Law, but I do believe that the City of Lincoln has an ordinance that deals with this.  Also personally I would not recommend the carry of firearms at an event like this.  That is what they did in California and look now they have no way to carry for self defense (OK, there are concealed carry permits if you are politically connected).

The statement about  concealed carry in California is not entirely true.  I am an average Joe and not connected at all, and I have a permit.  It is though, not the same in all of California.  There are places such as San Francisco that you couldn't steal one if you tried.  It's a matter of who the local sheriff is.  Some will and some wont.

I need to put in another two cents about the open carry.  You have the right to carry, and that is a great thing.  Those in California had the right to open carry too, but used it to provoke LEO's to force some type of altercation.  This went on so much that some idiots got themselves shot because they refused to cooperate with the officer, or made a wrong move when things got heated.  Many people found themselves staring down a gun, being arrested, and hassled because they did not act wisely.  So what I am saying is choose you battles, and choose the battle grounds even more so.  You have the right and it sounds like you can carry there. But at this event there will be some very high emotions, and provoking people who may falsely accuse you, or those with you.  Its best to put on our best face and represent the cause.  It will be evident to everyone there that we all carry and use guns in a safe, legal and responsible manner.  Just my thoughts for what it's worth.

I cannot make it because I have a bad back and the pain would be too much. I will be rooting for the cause though.

I had the shirts made up to 4x, but quantites were limited. I don't know what he has left, but short sleeve tshirts are $15, long sleeve $18, unless you need 2x-4x, then they are $1 more each. All profits are donated to NFOA. Neither Rod or I have made one cent on the sales of the shirts.
