Hope this is ok.  I told him I'd send my 'friends'  but I guess ya'll will have to do.
Fella having a garage sale  @  (1607 Janssen (83 & A))  Has " a few old guns" for sale. ( Great older gentleman, loves firearms as much as any of us.  Possible member recruit ;) We talked shop for quite a while, three separate times )
Decent prices- when I left there last he still had a Sears single/bolt action .22, a few pump shotguns (12 and 20), an old single 12, a really cool double side by side 12ga blackpowder shotgun.  I have it on good authority he no longer has an Enfiled.
Stop in and take a look if your in the area the next day or two.

That Enfield is the best $100 gun I ever bought....the problem is it shoots well enough that now it needs new wood to restore it back to factory condition.

Palmetto State Armory has the GSG-5 .22 MP5 clone for $299 through tomorrow.  That's $150 off.

on Nov 11 and 12 (Veteran's Day), Cabela's will give all (currently and ex) military, police, firefighters and EMS people, employee discounts on everything in the store, but you have to show your .gov ID to get the discounts.

if you don't know, their employee discounts on ammo and clothes are usually pretty good!

Support   the Second Amendment Foundation by Shopping at Amazon

How can you save money AND support SAF’s lawsuits (helmed by legal rockstars like Alan Gura) at the same time?  It’s as easy as 1 – 2 – 3!

1.  Get to Amazon through http://saf.org/amazon (http://saf.org/amazon)
When you want to shop at Amazon, get there by going to http://saf.org/amazon (http://saf.org/amazon) – you’ll be redirected to the regular Amazon homepage.  Voila!

2.  Buy stuff!  Really.  It’s that simple.  Every item that you buy through saf.org/amazon (even if you just put items in your cart and buy them later) is credited to our fundraising program.  Oh – it costs you NOTHING, by the way.  Total win-win, right?

3.  Watch SAF win (with your help!).  Up to 10% of every purchase through saf.org/amazon is sent by Amazon to SAF about 45 days later.

That’s some 2A cha-ching!

Still have questions?  No problemo.  Here’s more on this awesome program:

When you go to Amazon through saf.org/amazon, Amazon creates a special “session” cookie that associates your purchases with our affiliate account.  It’s all transparent to the shopper; there’s literally no difference in your shopping experience.

No, we can’t know who ordered what.  Amazon does a great job making sure your privacy is protected.  (Plus, you know, we don’t wanna know…)

Once you get to Amazon through saf.org/amazon, all you will see in your browser's address bar will be a url containing a "tag" like this one: http://www.amazon.com/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&tag=s0cc7-20. (http://www.amazon.com/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&tag=s0cc7-20.)  There won’t be any “confirmation page” or notice that you’re shopping through saf.org/amazon.  Hey, you didn’t want another pop-up to deal with anyway, right?

“This rocks!” you say?  We think so, too, so don’t be bashful – go share the good news with the world!  Thanks very much for your continuing support of our work to advance your rights.

Sincerely,

The Second Amendment Foundation team

Guns Unlimited near 120th & I Omaha has some of the better prices I've seen locally for range-hulls for 12ga.  Winchester AA 100 packs for $4.50 or so.  They're in the right half of the store that looks like it's more or less for random storage, not actual product showcase.

Since my daughter and I weren't at school or work, we decided to do a little trap shooting at Lincoln Trap and Skeet.

While there, Found out that journal star has them on Hot Deals:

http://journalstar.upickem.net/r/YFcqNXS4zw (http://journalstar.upickem.net/r/YFcqNXS4zw)
(if 4 people buy from that link, I get mine for free! :D)

For $10, you get two 50 targets of Clay, Skeet, or Trap AND two boxes of shells.

For basically the cost of ammo, you get to shoot for free.  that's pretty hard to beat.  Oh yeah, I think the deal ends Monday 11/26, but is good through 5/31/2013

Enjoy!

HUGE DIFFERENCE TO MAKE A NOTE OF!!!
Many of you might not know this but there are TWO Cheaper than Dirts! There is the absolutely IDIOT Cheaper than Dirt business that suspended all gun sales starting today on their online catalogs due to the recent RMMs. They ALSO raised the prices of their P Mags from $15 each to $65 Each today!
I could go on about this but all of you need to go to their Facebook...the online catalog ... and send them a message about them being absolute fools in caving in to this emotional, illogical mindset and NOW using this tragedy to fill their check books by hosing us.
The ACTUAL gun store Cheaper Than Dirt in Ft. Worth Texas...they are a totally DIFFERENT BUSINESS and are IN NO way connected to the people running the catalog.
The STORE CTD are who we have been dealing with for decades. Dewayne Irwin and his amazing staff have been OUR #1 place for us personally to purchase guns and for many of you who have asked us for help on guns and gear...these are the guys that have helped you GET the guns you needed and the gear you wanted!!! Do NOT CONFUSE THESE TWO!
Dewayne is Clint's baby brother in more ways than he can count. Dewayne has supported us and TR for decades and IF I need anything and when we have been in trouble...Dewayne is one of the first people I call for help. He and his staff need our support and get the word out that they have nothing to do with this latest publicity stunt by the catalog owners.
He also still has his P Mags for sale at $15 each!
Thanks for listening to me vent!!!
Heidi and Clint

I went to a Cheaper than Dirt gun store in McKinney Tx on my last trip down there.  I never made it to the one in Ft Worth.  Is one better than the other?
Title: Re: Good Deals thread II
Post by: bullit on December 20, 2012, 06:51:18 AM
The McKinney store is the catalogue owner's store i.e. Don't support them in my opinion.  Dewayne Irwin owns the Ft Worth store from the catalogue folks about 20 yrs ago.  In the deal the catalogue folks have a counter and warehouse in the back where they can sell out of that end of the building.  In short, the Ft Worth STORE is where you want to spend your bones.....the essentially carry the same merchandise.

The question I keep asking myself is, "Is this ammo likely to go up significantly in price?"  Right now I don't own reloading equipment although I've decided I'm definitely going to buy a full set up.  What might not be the greatest deal today could be an awesome deal a few weeks from now.  :(  I hate politicians..

Word must have gotten out, I have not even been able to access wideners, if I do half a case has your name on it if you want it.

For 5.56, pretty soon I might have break out the rainy day ammo, or shoot some of the steel case poo I bought awhile ago. yuck.

If any of you new AR owners are looking for mags I found some.  I have no idea if E-Lander mags are any good, but I needed some 20 rounders for CMP so I figured I would give them a try.  If nothing else I'll use them as range mags to save wear on my good ones.  $18 is a little pricey but a heck of a lot cheaper than anywhere else right now.  They also have Tangfolio mags which supposedly work ok in CZ75's, so I grabbed a couple of those too.  Haven't seen a CZ mag anywhere for months.

Looks like a classy company and the mags sound nice. They update a general shipping status on their Facebook page. I ordered some E-Landers last week and looks like it's another 5-6 week wait. Can anyone vouch for their quality?

How does this kit compare to the Supreme Master Kit offered by RCBS?  The press looks different.  Bad reviews on Amazon, etc....

5 sets of metallic dies, 25-40 a piece new would be 125-200.

Mec 600JR - 125-150ish

Die sets for the mec: 75 each: $150

Rockchucker kit: $300

Tumbler: $75

There's a case trimmer there as well...

Some components which I dunno if it comes with it or not.

Good deal, maybe.  Kinda hard to tell with out knowing a lot more.

Hammer Forged
The Hammer Forged Barrels offer distinct advantages over traditional barrel cutting. The process reduces the outer diameter of the barrel without removing material, making the barrel stronger and more rigid, at the same time as forming the interior rifling. This leaves a much cleaner and smother surface throughout the bore reducing projectile resistance and premature wear.

Bet the .22 at Scheels was gone by 10:03

I would have driven over, but I did not read the post until 10:30.

I do not need ammo, but I feel like a squirrel in the fall, before a long cold winter.   When it presents itself, I buy it and hope I never need it.

As a kid, I would scrape together a couple bucks, and get a brick of ammo, I never remember any stores ever being sold out, and the cost was high at $5.00.  I think I usually paid about $3.50 a brick.

A buddy and I would shoot every can, stick, twig, we could take aim at, in a couple shooting holes we knew about.

I hope those times come back again for the kids of this great land.

As in cases, 500/case, 3 cases equals 1500 rds,  they did not offer the same deal for the other calibers

Gonzo,

I might have been in line with you. I was wearing an olive jacket and blue jeans. Short guy, slimmer build with short brown hair.

do you have some special agreement with the Lincoln walmart?  I've never seen them sell cases before, or did they just ring them up as the boxes inside the case box?

No special deal, surprised me as well.  There was just a lot there,  some guys took 3 cases, some took a box of 45, a box of 40 and a case of .223.   Cases were more than $140

As a member of an Oklahoma FB group, WM seems to have received NUMEROUS cases/SPAM cans of Tula 500 rounds and selling in the $140-150 price range.  There are a couple of WMs in OK that have the same deal going on....3 cases to the buyer.  That essentially pencils out to 30 cents/round or $6.00/20 which is pretty darn cheap these days and a little less than double this time last year.

Tula at Walmart ,  I was not really paying attention to price but for some reason $153 sticks in my head.  I was told that the last of it was sold around 1200.  On a side note they pulled out an DPMS AR and sold that also.

probably off topic sorry I watched cases of 9mm winny 100pk at G.U. in Omaha fly out the door in about 20min, probably about 20K-30K rounds.  It was surreal.  They still had some 100pk 40SW for 40$, that was around 11:30am.

Not firearm/ammo related, but I assume at least a few of us here also enjoying fishing :)

Earlier, I was at Wal-Mart (Irvington Exit, Omaha) to get my fishing permit. At the end of one of the aisles, across from the nightcrawler 'fridge, they had several blue boxes of very nice lures for $1.50 each! They are under a banner saying something like "Bait Bonanza". There's a bit of everything...Lazy Ike, Hula Popper, Jitterbug, lots of crank baits, spinners, etc. These all were labeled by top manufacturers...Arbogast, Rapella among others. There's a bunch of 'em too. I spent another $20 just on lures

EDIT: I thought I posted this as a new topic in the ammo section?  Not sure if this is the correct place to post stuff like this and it got moved here?  I've only had one beer so I don't think I screwed it up!

When I originally posted about the lowers, I added four to my shopping cart and I did not get that message.  I have been checking their site every so often and all the lowers (with the exception of the polymer) have shown "Out of Stock" since the panic got into full swing.  However, just trying to "Add To Cart" now results in the message you are speaking of which is bringing me to believe they WERE in stock, and had been for about a day prior to my posting.

To those that have supported the Magpul recall efforts in Colorado, you can get a special edition Boulder Airlift 5 pack of Pmags for a fair price and the proceeds are used to fight back against the tyranny

https://store.magpul.com/product/MAG703/PMAG

from the website...
Quote
With the upcoming ban on standard-capacity magazines in our home state of Colorado and the seemingly never ending assault on Citizens' freedoms nationwide, we are releasing a short-run quantity of these limited edition PMAGs. Proceeds from the sales of these PMAGs will go towards the legal battle against recent unconstitutional firearms legislation in CO and other firearms rights efforts nationwide in which Magpul is involved.

Identical in function to the GEN M2 MOE PMAG, these mags have a modified ribbing spacing* on the body to allow additional branding. These magazines feature our 10th Anniversary Logo on the obverse side and either "Free Colorado" or "Boulder Airlift" on the reverse side.

DSGarms.com has Lancer mags 10% off this month. If you are also military, it makes the clear 30rd mags only $13.67 and black 30rd mags are $10.30. Great for us that have billet lowers.
Shipping is fast also. Ordered the 17th, got them the 19th with standard shipping.

DE Guns in Lincoln has Spikes Spider stripped lowers for $99.99 + Sales Tax. Certainly not bad for a local source -- no shipping and no transfer fees.
They also have a bunch of LPKs and other AR parts -- decent prices on most items from what I could tell.

Ooooohhhh, thanks.

I have been looking at the EPLowers for quite a while now.  Yes, they are Kevlar reinforced (for what that matters).  I may pick one or two up really soon if they have blems that would still be able to be finished and used.

Weird,..... earlier it took me to a page with blems listed.  Now it just has a page that has nothing listed.  I wondeer if they are sold out?

Also, there seems to be no way to contact them (phone or e-mail) listed on their page.

Scheels in Lincoln has electric meat grinders marked down from $99 to $39.  If you process your own deer having an electric grinder is a must have.  I've been using a hand crank one for years so I jumped on this deal and it works great.  I ground up 15lbs of venison for sausage tonight without any problems.

I bought a few of those when they first came out. I needed to file the mating surfaces of the trigger/hammer in order for the trigger pull to not feel like absolute crap. The bolt catch pin is slightly oversized too.

Not counting shipping I just bought a complete AR15 for barely over $400.  It's just a cheap non-chrome lined upper, but it would be fine for a plinker.  I plan on just sticking it in the safe and keeping it for trade fodder.

Just thought I'd point out that if you wanted to build a starter AR, head over to Palmetto State Armory and buy:

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ptac-16-5-56mm-1-9-m4-profile-rifle-kit.html (http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ptac-16-5-56mm-1-9-m4-profile-rifle-kit.html)

Then find someplace with decent cheap stripped lowers, and buy one.  (Generally $89 or less.   Which you can also get from PSA, but many other places too.)

Instant AR.  (Yes, eventually you'll want to switch out the barrel for a different one.  So what?)

.22LR
In stock now.

I ordered some early this morning and it's almost suspicious how long they've remained in stock today.  I hope it's not some sort of glitch and I'm not going to get a message saying they're back-ordered.

I notice the "new" packaging is to reduce them down from 325 to 300 rounds.  They've cut back the "swamp pack" size from the box I bought last fall.

I was surprised, but I think that 22LR at Cabelas was in stock for at least a 3 or 4 days.  I saw the original post here and a few days later decided I should tell my niece since she had a new SR22 to feed.  Before I sent her the info, I checked to make sure it was still in stock, figuring it would be long gone, and they still had some.

Panic coming to an end? Ehhh...maybe not.

Actually, it was two distinct events. Same ammo, $3 price increase. Was able to buy some the first time for a buddy that needed some, passed the second time.

I note that their "Shaggy" is my second-favorite appendix carry holster, and the one that I use in the summertime for my G17 (and sometimes G19) when I need the gun butt tucked into my body for more concealment in lighter clothing.  (The Archangel is my favorite, but the Shaggy actually conceals better.)

More good deals from PSA...

The .223 price is not stellar, but not bad for the times.  Before the panic, I bought 5.56 55gr for around $0.30/round.  The 9mm is a pretty good price though.  About the best I could find it for locally was Walmart where a 100 round box was $27 and some change.

I don't know about "generally agreed upon".  I've seen numerous D&H vs. C Products threads on forums like ar15.com and there's usually a mix of supporters for both manufacturers.  Personally, I've run both and the only problem I ever had was failure of both to drop free from an (apparently) out of spec magwell.  The D&H with the Magpul followers definitely are nice.  I own quite a few of those and like them a lot.

I have both, and the D&H do seem to be a little more robust but both function well in all of my lowers.

Normally wouldn't post about .22 in stock because it's out of stock a minute later.

However... Cabelas has had 333-round packs of hollowpoint .22 available and in-stock for a couple hours now for $18.99/box and free ship to store.  I got mine and wife got hers.  No error or backorder messages popped up.

http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/rimfire-ammunition/_/N-1100192/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104536080?WTz_l=Unknown%3Bcat104792580%3Bcat104691780 (http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/rimfire-ammunition/_/N-1100192/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104536080?WTz_l=Unknown%3Bcat104792580%3Bcat104691780)

GONE NOW but they were out there for several hours!

I wonder if we'll get to the point where every AR15 owner has a couple dozen of these hidden away. When the next crisis hits, maybe the prices will actually drop because so many hit the market.

Bunch of good deals at Thunder Alley in Lincoln. A couple I can remember:

Raspberry LCP 380 for $260.
SAR Arms Hawk 9mm for $360.
Lightly used Gen 4 Glock 17 for $450.

Plus many more that it's too early and my memory is too poor to remember

They open at noon today.

It was a joke. I figured it was a typo and meant to be 20 rounds of ammo.

No, it's 7.99 per 100 unloaded projectiles.  Great deal, if they still have it.
